Prof. Shiv Kumar Mishra

Dr. Shiv Kumar Mishra is a professor of History at School of Social Sciences, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He joined IGNOU as a Professor (History) in 2023. Prior to joining IGNOU, he worked as Professor of History at Government Arts Girls College, Kota (Department of Higher Education, Government of Rajasthan). He has more than 27 years of teaching experience.
He has completed his M.A. in History from Dr. Hari Sing Gour University, Sagar, (M.P.) and Ph.D. from MLS University, Udaipur (Rajasthan).
His major fields of academic interests are Freedom movement of India, leadership and awakening with special reference to Hadouti and cultural History of Tribals. He has written 5 books. 3 students have been awarded Ph.D. degree under his supervision and 3 research scholars have submitted their thesis. He has contributed more than 30 research paper to National and International reputed refereed/peer reviewed/UGC care listed journals. He has successfully completed one UGC project. He has participated in more than 100 National and international seminars. He has presented more than 30 papers in National and International seminars/conferences. He has been co-editor of an International Journal. He has developed more than 60 E-contents. He had delivered many invited lectures in Colleges and Universities. He was the member of Board of study in several Universities.
As the part of his administrative experiences, he has served as the Principal of Government Colleges in Rajasthan. He was the Director (MPD) at Vardhman Mahaveer Open University, Kota, (Rajasthan).
He participates as a panelist for different electronic media: ETV, News 18, Rajpath News, and others. He is prolific writer and published many articles on contemporary issues in the National dailies like Dainik Bhaskar, Dainik Navjyoti, Swadesh, Rashraduta and others.
